Women in STEM.
Women in Science is a project aimed at highlighting the wonderful stories of Pakistani women currently studying or working in science. Growing up, I felt a lack of exposure to women who had pursued careers in science. I was unaware of the breadth of scientific fields, institutes and universities I could attend. I chose to pursue higher education abroad and was very privileged to be able to do so. However, it is important to recognise that many may choose not to or are unable to for several reasons. Therefore, this project comprises stories and experiences from hard-working Pakistani women, both abroad and in Pakistan, who are tirelessly working to pursue science.
These are real women with real stories, and I hope that for all the young, aspiring scientists, this project serves as inspiration and encouragement to pursue their science goals. I also hope that for all non-scientists, this showcases the amazing work Pakistani women are doing! This project is a labour of love for all the wonderful and inspiring women involved.
